Cradle
The front cradle adjusts to fit tires sizes 21mm to 61mm. Griping only the tire it will not damage the rim whilst 2 O-rings securely hold the rider in place even during an aggressive effort.
Adjustable arm
Adjusting to fit any size bike, from the smallest kids bike to the largest of mountain bike the arm also doubles as the lever to move the unit around.
Clamping system
The clamp holds the bike securely to the Matchrider. No weight at all is put on the bottom bracket of the bike as all weight disperses via the wheels.
Variable stability
Freedom of sideways movement with a 4 degree safety lock out. From a rigid setting (similar to a traditional A frame), down to virtually nil (closer to a roller system).
E-box
The electronics hub connecting rider & road doubles as a sturdy step. Inside a built in universal power supply for all counties, custom electronics running the drive roller and the on-board computer.
Roller
A dual roller system that adjusts to fit any size bike. Contained within is an electric motor that can produce more than 2640 watts and 80.1 kph. A powerhouse simulating any environment & producing both assistance and resistance.
Feet
Adding wheels makes it very easy to maneuver. Simply lifting the front cradle and then easily rolling the unit to its next position.

Rollers
Rollers provide enough surface area so the tire can dispense of all kinetic load bearing energy away from the bike frame. Naturally from legs through wheel and roller. "Exactly as it happens on the road".

QUICK TIPS
Powerful & accurate, matchrider® is the most intuitive indoor cycling platform in the market. Designed for all, from a demanding pro-riders right to a newcomer learning to ride.
Following these tips will ensure
a perfect experience every Time.
Download App
Although the unit can be used without the app by simply turning on the power, the app provides further functionality allowing you access to various modes of operation. It also allows for the adjustment of the variable stability as well manual input of environmental conditions. (head/tail wind and uphill/downhill).
Enter correct weight
Matchrider is all about accuracy and dynamic calibrations of "real world" physics. The correct weight will need to be entered into the app in order for the unit to implement appropriate inertia. This is because the power to weight ratio is a major consideration in the units algorithmic calculations. Particularly within in the native modes as the level of accuracy here is "simulation" rather than "gamification".
Ensure the unit is level
Having a unit level is imperative. Ensure the unit is level by adjusting the feet as necessary to compensate for any floor unevenness. This process should be checked frequently particularly if ridden hard and always redone when the unit is moved to another location.
Tighten all 6 feet
Once the unit is leveled it is very important that the feet are secured in place. To do this we use the lock bolt. This process should be frequently checked if a unit is ridden hard and re-done if the unit is moved to another location.
Rear tire pressure 100+ psi
The recommended rear tire pressure is > 100PSI (similar to riding on a velodrome). If the tire pressure is not optimum, variance in watts may be noticed.
Attach bike correct to clamp
Attach the bike correct onto the clamp, focusing first on the bottom bracket hinge. Once completed this can be (to a degree) a set and forget. It is advised that periodic checks are done to maintain correct levels of attachment as the clamp is the conjoint between rider, bike and unit. This multidiscipline design solution is at the core of the Matchrider technology and ultimately what delivers the "real road" experience.
Snug fit b/w clamp & bracket
As the bike needs to be secured to the clamp so does the clamp itself require a very snug fit with the bottom bracket of the frame. This ensures that the unit & the bike become one and that all load-bearing energy gets directed away from the frame. From pedal stroke, through the bracket, through the rear wheel and out through the rollers. (exactly as the road).
Take 10 minutes and climatize
When a unit is first assembled and the bike is attached. It is recommended that a quick test run in freewheeling mode is undertaken. The unit does sit a little high and the initial feel of the roller as well the lean take about 5 minutes to get used to.
Familiarize variable stability
It is also recommended to familiarize yourself with variable stability. Controlled from the app the default stability/lean is set to 100 representing an A-frame feel. Moving towards "0" is more pro setting giving a sensation of rollers. Each rider has complete control over this.
Ride unit powered "on"
Although the unit can be ridden without power it is recommended that it is powered "on" when ridden. This is the best way to take advantage of the realistic motor feel from accurate pedal strokes. The unit can also be ridden without the app but is not recommended as a rider cannot change their environmental conditions. However a rider will still experience a realistic and natural road ride including all the support to lean and turn with a "default" environment of 75 kg rider weight, zero wind and zero slope.
Apply weight on seat to break/stop
When riding the unit and trying to slow down please use sensible breaking pumps to minimize friction or wear. Likewise if not sitting on the unit but wanting to break or stop the rollers, it is advised that some pressure be put on the seat prior to applying the breaks. The inertia calculations providing assistance to the motor in the absence of real pressure on the seat will allow the roller to roll frictionless.
Limitation guidelines
1) The maximum rider weight for the 4 degree leaning lock out is 85kgs. 2) Set up of unit and bike on unit, wheel pressure and clamp fit with bike are important pre-ride checks. Particularly important if undertaking rides with larger gradients of uphill slow speeds for prolonged periods of time.

INPUT ENVIRONMENT
Wind as a positive for a headwind and a negative as a tailwind. This value can be set to 99 km/h (+- ) in either direction.
Gradient can be set to 30 degrees (+-) either positive or negative to represent a slope.
Both gradient and wind can be input at the same time to combine the effect. The effect on-assistance or resistance is relative to the rider’s weight & height.

SET TARGET WATT
A target value is set (eg: 200 watts). If the rider isn’t achieving the target value then resistance is increased to force the rider to output more watts.
Conversely if the-rider over powers the target value then resistance is reduced until a smooth constant is achieved. The matchrider constantly servos either side of the value depending on the rider’s average power output.

Matching performances
Matchfiles are a unique concept.
dedicated POV RIDING sessions with embedded biometric data re-ridden on a Matchrider® in “Matching MODE”. the sole purpose of these files are to provide increased insight into pro standard riding competency, Achieved by matching biometric effort whilst adhering to the riding techniques in the POV.
Matchrider® is the only Trainer in the market providing true ASSISTANCE and RESISTANCE using “targeted SPEED” to match “real time” efforts of a rider with that of the origin file. behind the scenes a “graded” differential between rider and the origin file is tracked which allows you to manAge your progress while improving your riding skill. a one of A kind, experience exclusive to Matchrider’s® mechanical and electronic superior design.
“WE ARE CONTINUALLY BUILDING A LIBRARY OF EXAMPLES THAT CAN HELP YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT IS REQUIRED TO RIDE AT YOUR GOAL LEVEL. IF IT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN B AND C GRADE AT A LOCAL CLUB RACE, OR WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A WORLD TOUR RIDER, RIDING A MATCHFILE CAN HELP YOU FEEL WHAT IT TAKES”.
IN the POV, WE EMBED CADENCE, GRADIENT, SPEED, RIDER WEIGHT, HEIGHT AS WELL THE WATT OUTPUT OF THE ORIGIN SESSION. A user LOADs A MATCHFILE on the APP, selects Matching Mode and simply Presses play.
“THE MATCHFILE STRUCTURE IS BUILT TO AUTOMATICALLY PLACE YOU IN THE GRADE YOU ARE CAPABLE OF. BY MATCHING HOW THE SOURCE RIDER IS RIDING AT YOUR FITNESS LEVEL, WE THEN GRADE YOU ACCORDINGly.”
MATCHFILE DNA
Used with the discipline of matching speed as well the visual riding style from the video a rider can experience WHAT really HAPPENS WITHIN THOSE MICRO SECONDS OF RACING A BIKE. THOSE EXTRA 1/2 PEDDLE STROKES THAT HAVE YOU EITHER HOLDING THE WHEEL OR BEING DROPPED. POSITIONING AND MEASURING EFFORTS ARE JUST A FEW OF THE SKILLS PROFESSIONALS UTILIZE WHEN RACING. “THAT’S THE DIFFERENCE” becasuse STEPPing BACK looking only at AVERAGES or ONCE OFF MAXIMUM SPEEDS DOESN’T TELL THE WHOLE JOURNEY. That is what Matching mode replicates and what immerses cyclists when riding a MATCHFILE…
MATCHFILE’S GOAL
riding a Pro- matchfile: In the Long Term the goal Is to get to an “A” Grading or better using target Speed and POV for technical relativity. In the Sort term, the goal is to find your personal GRADE level & by keeping to it gradually improve your overall riding skill. GOAL for personal: Re riding you “own file” as (non pro) the goal is work towards “a” GRADE or better equally utilizing the target speed and POV relativity.
“GRADING TAKES PLACE IN THE BACKGROUND, WHILST ASSISTANCE OR RESISTANCE ARE APPLIED IN REAL TIME”.
THE GRADING:
THERE ARE DIFFERENT GRADES DEPENDING ON THE MATCHED (TARGET) SPEED. THE USER FILE BEGINS AT AN F GRADE AND MOVE THROUGH THEM UP TO A OR EVEN A+ BASED ON THE MATCHING SPEEDS. A = 100%, B = 80%, C = 60%, D = 40% , E = 20% WITH F FREE RIDING.
TO BE ABLE TO ACHIEVE THE (SPEED) MATCH, YOU HAVE TO OVERCOME THE SAME RESISTANCE IN WATTS FROM THE MATCHFILE RELATIVE TO YOUR OWN HEIGHT/WEIGHT, INCLUDING THE REQUIRED GEARING TO ACHIEVE THE TARGET SPEED. FOR EXAMPLE IF YOU ARE THE SAME WEIGHT & HEIGHT AS THE MATCHED RIDER & ARE RIDING IN B GRADE, IF THE MATCHFILE IS PRODUCING 500 WATTS YOU ARE ASKED TO PRODUCE 400 WATTS IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN THE SAME SPEED. IF YOUR OUTPUT IS 500 WATTS OVER A 5 SECOND PERIOD THE SYSTEM WILL BRING YOU UP TO A GRADE. IF YOU CANNOT MAINTAIN THE MATCHING (SPEED TARGET) IT WILL DROP YOU BACK TO B GRADE AND SO ON. THE GOAL IS TO FIND THE GRADE THAT MATCHES YOUR FITNESS LEVEL AND MAINTAIN OR IMPROVE ON IT.
